Slow, compressive strokes applied along the length of a muscle recalibrate the nerve receptors that determine muscle length allowing the contracted muscle to relax. This massage will realign the soft tissue and bring balance to the skeleton and much less strain is imposed to the nervous system. Better posture, freer movement, looser joints, improved coordination, higher levels of energy end vitality are some of the benefits of the deep tissue massage.
Thai Massage
Thai massage is a very ancient style of massage with origins deep in Orient and is also called the "lazy men "yoga. Like the Chinese medicine, this technique also is based on energy meridians but in a different approach. Compressions with various parts of the body like elbow,
thumb knees or palms are applied but this modality employs plenty of stretching movements that affect the entire body by increased flexibility, releasing both deep and superficial tension, and helping the body's natural energy to flow freely. The client plays a passive role but
the result is an opened body which leaves one feeling both relaxed and energized at the same time. The massage is done on the floor, using a thick mat and the client needs to wear loose clothing, to be able to stretch without constrictions. It is recommended not to eat at
least an hour before the treatment.
Shiatsu
Shiatsu is a holistic method of care dating back thousands of years. This method Involves pressure and strokes applied to oriental acupoints to balance the body energy which promotes a self healing process. Uses finger pressure so the skin is not penetrated like in acupuncture.
This treatment can be done on the table mixed in a deep tissue or Swedish or can be done like Thai massage on the floor and clothed. Shiatsu unblocks the energy that is stuck in certain meridians that is causing imbalances in the body or different affections. It is great help
for joints and muscles, respirator, digestive, nervous and urinary systems. It does not replace medical care when needed but it complements it.
