
REBEL X: MIND & BODY SESSIONS
Mind & Body Sessions focus energy on developing not only the physical aspects of the individual, but also the mental and spiritual aspects. Classes are provided FREE for students and SRWC members to assist participants in addressing all the components of wellness.
The Spring Semester 2009 schedule will begin on Monday, January 26th thru Friday, May 1st, 2009. The Summer Session I 2009 schedule will begin on Wednesday, May 13th thru Sunday, May 31st.. These classes tend to fill up quickly. It is recommended that participants arrive10-minutes early to secure a spot. Please keep in mind that the rooms will close once the Mind & Body Session has begun. Equipment is provided however you are more than welcome to bring your own.
New! Beginning Yoga
Stretch, relax, and renew! Link breathing with movement to strengthen, build stamina and balance! Students learn how to find where postural imbalances occur in their structures, loosen tight muscles, and strengthen weak ones. Each student learns how to gain more awareness of the body and how to reach its optimum strength. No experience necessary. All fitness levels welcome!

Intro. To Boxing
Take a jab at learning the science of boxing from a former UNLV boxing champ, Henry Namauu. Prepare for a tough total body workout geared towards weight management. This class features traditional boxing moves, combinations, and skipping drills to increase muscular strength, coordination and cardiovascular fitness. Beginners welcome!

Chinese Kung Fu
Students will practice forms, self defense applications, and two person. Safety, moderation, and control are given a top priority at all times. Students will also obtain increased flexibility, stamina, leg/upper body strength, coordination, and balance.

Judo
Judo is a Japanese martial art and an Olympic sport that consists of throwing and grappling techniques. With Judo, one can learn how to use strength, skill and leverage with maximum efficiency. It is a form of self-defense and a means of self improvement. All fitness levels welcome!

Pilates
This introduction to pilates is designed to lengthen and strengthen your entire body. Utilizing the teachings of Joseph Pilates, these movements will help you gain postural alignment, balance and flexibility. Once participants have mastered pilates basics they will be prepared to take it to the next level. Beginners Welcome!

Yoga Power Hour
This level 2 vinyasa class is designed for those who have a basic understanding of flow and alignment who want to move a bit faster and explore new heights without necessarily being advanced in the practice. Great for beginners who want a challenge or long time yogis who want a quickie, this class is a great way to bring more energy into your day. Previous Yoga experience recommended.
